Facelift

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jawline slackens, soft tissues of the face deflate, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by adding and removing fat, tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look -- after surgery, some patients appear as much as 10 or 15 years younger. Dr. Harrison's goal is to restore smoother, more pleasing facial contours and at the same time avoid an over operated look. Facelifts can make you look as good as you feel.

There are many styles of facelifts and the techniques are very different. Some facelifts can be done very quickly by just undermining and tightening the skin, but the results are very short lived. Dr. Harrison typically will use a SMAS facelift and do the majority of the tightening of the face on the deeper tissue thus allowing the skin to be closed on less tension avoiding that unnatural, over operated look. An integral part of facial rejuvenation is restoration of volume. There are a number of volume fillers that can be used to achieve this. Most commonly, Dr. Harrison does this with micro fat grafts by removing fat where you do not want it, tightening up the muscles and skin and adding volume to give you an overall more youthful look.

During your initial consultation with Dr. Harrison, he will sit you in front of a mirror and specifically look at your areas of concern and discuss various options to improve those areas. It is important for you to speak candidly about your concerns. We will honor the trust you put in our office with absolute privacy. Dr. Harrison will also help assess and then discuss realistic expectations for the final result.

Eyelid Surgery - Blepharoplasty

Many factors contribute to aging eyes including: loss of elasticity, gravity, smoking and sun damage. These factors can cause the supporting tissues to deteriorate, allowing the eye to drop and sag. Also, deflation of the upper half of the face can lead to a deepening of the crease at the eyelid cheek junction (tear trough deformity). This tear trough deformity produces dark circles under your lower eyelids that are near impossible to cover with makeup.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids by tightening muscles and tissue and/or removing excess fat. This procedure can be performed on women and men alike, offering a younger more refreshed look that is reflected across the entire face. The popularity of this procedure reflects the importance of the eyes in perfecting ones overall appearance. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your eyes you may want to consider blepharoplasty to improve your look and boost your confidence through a safe procedure with minimum down time. When doing blepharoplasty surgery, Dr. Harrison feels that addressing the lids alone cannot completely correct the aging eye. Something needs to be done to the tear trough deformity in order to blend the lid cheek junction.

Brow / Forehead Lift

Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Browlifts involve the removal or alteration of the muscles above the eyes to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. This can be achieved using either traditional or hairline subcutaneous methods. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face. You and Dr. Harrison will discuss which option is best for you.

Ear Surgery - Otoplasty

Ear surgery typically serves two functions: setting prominent ears back closer to the head and reducing the size of large ears. Surgery may also be helpful for large or stretched earlobes and lobes with large creases and wrinkles. During your initial consultation, Dr. Harrison will explain which ear structures are imbalanced and what steps will be taken to achieve your desired look while maintaining a natural unoperated appearance post-operatively.

Chin Enhancement - Mentoplasty

Mentoplasty is a term for a cosmetic surgery meant to improve the facial profile and harmony of its features. Although human beauty and attractiveness are generally subjective, there are some rules that dictate whether contours are aesthetic or not. In regards to the chin, these rules revolve around the positioning and prominence of the chin relative to the base of the nose. No one procedure has a more powerful effect on facial balance than a chin augmentation. Dr. Harrison will discuss whether other procedures like neck liposuction might be of benefit at your initial consultation.
