Your time is important to us. That is why we will make every effort to schedule appointments so you do not have to wait. This allows us ample time for a complete evaluation and discussion. Please provide our office with 24 hours' notice if you need to change an appointment. Arrival more than 15 minutes late for an appointment may result in a need to reschedule.

FEES PRIOR TO SURGERY

Because most insurance policies do not cover cosmetic procedures, we request that payments be made prior to surgery.

  • For your convenience, we accept Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover.

  • We also accept CareCredit through the following application. Please use "HARRISON" for the doctor registration code.

HEALTHCARE PLAN PARTICIPATION

Dr. Harrison participates in many area health care plans - please ask about your plan. Check with your insurance provider for out-of-network benefits.

Prior to your initial Office Visit:

After discussing any procedure(s) with our office staff, you will receive a customized packet containing information on the specific procedures you have in mind. Generally, patients have considered a particular procedure for some time before contacting our office. We advise you to research various procedures before your initial office visit.

Initial Paperwork:

You will be greeted by our office staff and asked to complete some patient information sheets (unless you've already filled out these forms mailed in your customized packet or downloaded prior to your initial office visit). Next, you will watch an instructional DVD(s) on the procedure(s) you have in mind. We find the instructional DVD's particularly valuable because it allows a visual aid to reinforce the information that you may have read through in the brochures that were mailed to you beforehand.

 

Consultation:

Following the instructional DVD(s), you will move to your consultation with Dr. Harrison. He will begin with a review of your medical history records before focusing his attention on understanding the particular issues that are concerning you. This part of the consultation is done in front of a mirror so that you and Dr. Harrison can see the area(s) in question, using marking pens to demonstrate potential incisions and pertinent anatomic concerns (the consultation portion of your visit lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour). Once your goals are established, Dr. Harrison will spend the remaining time talking through your options (relative advantages and disadvantages of these options) and developing a plan to help you reach your goals.

 

Meet with our Patient Coordinator:

Lastly, you will have the opportunity to meet with our patient coordinator to discuss the procedure(s) and associated cost(s) (cosmetic surgery fees are usually collected two weeks in advance of your planned procedure). Also, you will receive some supplemental information in order to further educate you concerning your proposed procedure(s).

 

Next Steps…:

A second complimentary pre-operative visit is always planned when a patient decides to proceed with surgery. This gives our patients time to conduct further research by taking time to consider their options and receiving other consultations. At your second pre-operative visit we will review your goals and you will receive (1) more specific details regarding pre and post-operative care and (2) your prescription so your medications are ready before surgery. Please keep in mind, our office is always available if questions arise and our staff is very knowledgeable and a great resource to patients, having personally experienced various surgical procedures themselves.

24-HOUR EMERGENCY COVERAGE

We provide 24-hour emergency coverage for all patients. If you have an emergency after office hours, call our office at 903.535.7722 or our answering service at 903.509.6000. The answering service will take your message and contact Dr. Harrison or the covering physician immediately.

CONCIERGE POST-OPERATIVE CARE OPTIONS

We make it our goal to provide the highest quality care for all our surgical patients before, during and after the procedure.  We are pleased to offer home care options through our partnership with Right at Home-In Home Care and Assistance.

 

During your pre-operative appointment we will discuss your post-operative care needs and what recommendations Dr. Harrison has to make sure your recovery goes smoothly.  Should Dr. Harrison suggest additional care after your discharge from the hospital we will coordinate with our Plastic Surgery trained concierge home care team from Right at Home.  From there you will have a customized care plan ranging from skilled nursing care to help with daily living depending upon your needs. Right at Home can also provide you with transportation home from the hospital, light housekeeping and help with meals. 

 

This home care is an optional extension of our commitment to your health care but will not replace post-operative appointments with Dr. Harrison or our practices 24 hour on call service.
